Midway Partnership

A New Vision for Chicago's Midway Airport

About the Project

On May 12, 2017, Midway International Airport officially began a three-year, $75 million modernization of the shopping and dining experience.

Midway Partnership is excited to redevelop and operate the airport’s concessions program, a key part of Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s broader vision to revitalize Midway as an airport of choice and a top local employer. Learn more about working at Midway.

The extensive redevelopment will provide world-class dining and retail facilities for Midway’s 22 million annual passengers. A mix of 21 new food and retail concepts will showcase the city’s culture and richly diverse food scene, and include both established global brands and local Chicago favourites.

Brands coming to Midway include Go Go White Sox, Dunkin Donuts, DeCOLORES Burrito Joint, Tabo Sushi, Tech on the Go and Sweet Indulgences.

Midway Partnership will also:

  • Double the number of permanent concession jobs to 1,400
  • Contribute an additional $10 million in sales tax revenue to City of Chicago
  • Secure ACDBE participation above City's target to 41% one of the highest in the United States
  • Provide more opportunities for local brands and operators
  • Enhance the passenger experience

  • youth mentoring
  • summer learning and education
  • arts and culture
  • nutrition and wellness
  • LGBTQ advocacy

In addition, our team has secured strong interest from Chicago cultural institutions in joining forces to offer merchandise from Chicago's world-class museums as well as rotating and/or pop-up exhibits.
